My Bracelet

It was a bright yellow bracelet,

That was given to me that day.

If there was anything I remembered about my bracelet,

It was given to me in May.

Besides the fact it was given to me by my grandmother,

One of the reasons I loved it so,

Everytime it hit the sunlight,

It began to sparkle and glow.

But one faithful day,

When I went to the garden and began to play,

I swung my arms and my bracelet flew off of me,

Flying further than any eye can see.

I searched all around,

And even prayed some,

I said to myself how can I lose the only memory I have of my mom,

And till' this day the thought of it still makes me numb.

A year has past,

And I still hope and pray,

Still searching and looking,

In hope I will find my bracelet some day.
