My Broken Little Prince

Six years old life should still be a game skinned knees on the playground should be your only pain You shouldn't be crying its too soon for this I shouldn't be thinking of the life that you could miss Broken shards of sharp glass should never pierce your small wrists your only hurt should be bruises the kind healed by Mom's kiss You're too young for this battle so many dreams yet undreamt gifts not fully given a life not fully spent Pick your heart up, my darling you don't need to hurt anymore find the strength fight on now someday, my prince, you'll soar
