My Broken Promise

I broke my promise.

I told you forever.

And now my heart breaks

With every thought

That runs through my head

Of how I broke yours.

I see memories of you,

Memories of us

Everywhere I look.

I find myself searching,

Yearning for those memories

So that maybe I can feel

Something, anything,

Besides my heart breaking

Because I broke my promise.

All of my poems I have written myself to capture the emotions and experiences I have personally lived through. Writing helps me escape my thoughts.
