My Brother
- Intelligent, driven brother:
- I often compare our bond to that of other siblings.
- I grew up with dad and you with your mom.
- You are always aways and there are so many
- Milestones that we miss out on.
- You tell me about your adventures in college and Europe,
- And I tell you about my boring summer with my parents.
- We sometimes talk about how our lives would have been
- If we had grown up together like other siblings do.
- We see ourselves bickering over who has to wash dishes
- And over who ate the last cookie.
- But we don't have that-
- And I don't want it.
- Sweet, caring brother:
- Thank you for being kind and thoughtful,
- For caring about my summers,
- And encouraging me to be better.
- Thank you for being the person I strive to be.
