To My Bunny
Dear Kelly Bunny,
You are black
and you are white.
You like to play and,
yes, sometimes you bite.
But of all the bunnies I have ever seen,
you are the bunny of all bunnies to me.
Never have I felt anything
so soft as your fur.
Not even my dresses of velvet
compare to you.
They are soft in one direction,
while you are in all.
Besides, petting a dress is silly,
while petting a bunny is sweet.
I don't know how to explain,
but I love you so much.
From the first look at the store
and ever after.
You are more than worth all my birthday money,
which I spent in supplying your home to you.
All for what?
For your hoppy, happy attitude day by day.
Nothing can stop your fun and fur.
I have only one request for my dear bunny:
Stay out from under my bed.
That is no place for my funny bunny.
It is place for my shoes and things,
but not for you at all.
I am sorry that Camo comes in
for the sake of terrorizing you.
He's a Lab, and that's what Labs do.
I wish he wouldn't, but it's beyond my control.
I try to save you from it, but to what avail?
'Tis almost impossible for the most part,
as his entrance to our space is my fault.
I must learn to close the door,
if not for my sake, then for yours.
I love my little Kelly bunny.
You know it is true.
That it is why I pet you, for I love you best of all.
I just hope my funny bunny loves me, too.
Your girlie,
Heidi
