My Burning Candle
I keep the burning in a candle in the corner on my mind, shining so dim that I can only see parts of me slipping through the veil. It’s too dark for you; you can’t believe with your eyes, only the disguise of your hands grasping me, feeling me. But not feeling, only touching, only lusting. You can’t believe what you see, who is me, which I can, how I stand, when you turn. On the lights, off I go. I can’t live unless I’m letting go, so hold me tight and then you'll know; who I am, dancing darkness across the golden smile of fun.
Please turn off the lights, I can’t see.
Please listen to the truth, you can’t see.
Please. Don’t go. Please. Don’t go.
I’ll do everything I can.
I would write you a song, but I don't how to sing. I would write you a song, but you don't know how to listen.
