My Butterfly

I try not to weep
Every time I see a butterfly
Though your absence makes it hard to sleep
Our memories are like my lullaby

When I’m in the dark
With wings so bright
It is their marks
that brings me to the light

Such a beautiful creature
Left me in the blink of an eye
Yet still a spiritual teacher
Who’s always nearby

My beautiful butterfly never fails
To bring me hope
When my backs against the rails
Or I’m hanging on thin rope

You’re always on my mind
And there when I’m falling apart
Never left behind
Forever in my heart
