My Cage

I was once happy

A long time ago

Now I cant seem to smile

Only tears seem to flow

Pen to paper

My feelings forever in ink

My escape from reality

My only way to think

Forever alone

In this cage I know well

Locked away

By an evil spell

Help is what I need

I scream but no one hears

I pound the cage to death

I cry a waterfall of tears

I will continue the fight

Till my days end

I wont give up

Till the bars bend

I am 17 and struggling through depression and anxiety. Poetry is my outlet that encourages me to move one more day.
