My Captain

The Boards ripped open, the sails were torn,

Waves crashed as i fell overboard.

The salty water filled my lungs,

Burned more and more with every plunge.

Heavy stones pull me down deep,

The salty seabed calling me.

Chaos turned to peaceful bliss,

Eyes heavy with each frantic twist.

You found me washed up, battered, worn.

Became my shelter, safe and warm.

My darkness you have decompressed,

You touched my heart and  gave it rest.

The best of me brought to the surface,

Now my heart beats with a whole new purpose.

Through all the wreckage, all the debri, all the unlhealed parts of me,

You took me along your side at sea.

With you I will navigate through sunshine and storm,

Hearts beating as one and souls conformed.
