My Cat

She's so little.

She was the runt

of the litter.

That learned

what heartbreak

was.

She was

the last one

to be picked.

Her little ears,

are the cutest

thing I've ever

seen.

When she tries

to sneak up

on me,

you can see her little ears

perk up.

She loves popcorn.

Her little teeth go

chomp, chomp, chomp.

She chews

the fluffy

butter puffs

into tiny pieces.

I look to my side,

and oh no!

She has made a mess!

My 1988 popcorn bowl

was on the floor,

with popcorn all scattered

on the floor.

Not only was there popcorn

on the floor,

but the popcorn

was all chewed up

into a million tiny pieces.

Hope she don't get

diabetes is all

I got to say.

 I am mad.

that she made

this mess.

I yank my covers back from my bed,

and there she was,

hiding under my covers

knowing that she was in trouble.

She looks at me with wide eyes:

"Please don't spank me,"

her eyes were saying.

I put my face close to her,

and before I say a word,

she puts one paw on my face

like a little monkey.

Then another.

I start talking to her

in a sweet voice.

I asked her

in a sweet sarcastic voice:

"Are you an animal?"

She looks at me and

her eyes bat and she purrs.

I hug her tightly,

and she smiles,

for me giving her

the best home

anyone could

ask for.
