My Chains
Why can no one see,
the chains clearly holding me?
The metal so heavy and rough.
The truth so grainy and tough.
Why can no one see?
Why can no one hear,
my voice ringing with fear?
The pitch so normal and steady.
The volume so high and ready.
Why can no one hear?
Why can no one feel,
The tension that’s making me reel?
The muscles so tight and strained.
The angst so withheld and refrained.
Why can no one feel?
Why can no one see me?
Why can no one hear me?
Why can no one feel for me?
Why does no one notice?
