My Childhood
My childhood...
My childhood is a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes,
he and I best friends from our first breath until our last dying breath.
Until my childhood decided he wanted to grow up.
How did he grow up you ask?
He grew up by forcing all his weight on me, suffocating me, forcing himself inside me, and when he was done left me naked in my bed.
In that moment my entire childhood betrayed me, my innocence lost.
All because he wanted to grow up.
A day went by and I said nothing,
A week went by and I said nothing,
A month went by and still nothing,
Finally a year went by and my sister said something.
Her childhood was also a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes.
Her childhood betrayed her too, the same way.
I listened crying because my silence became her pain.
I told her through tears that it was okay we will figure out everything.
She would cry and I would cry.
Sex scenes in movies gave us panic attacks
The word sex made us hyperventilate.
My parents and my childhood’s parents kept mingling like nothing had happened.
I wanted to scream at them to stop, but nothing came out.
Everything was building up and up and up and up to this point.
I had finally exploded.
I told my mother and she told me, "Your childhood is curious and he saw you growing into a beautiful woman, it is okay it is normal".
I was exasperated, my mother…
My mother who experienced the same crushing pain being assaulted, my mother...
My mother was calm and didn't have a care in the world after hearing what I just said.
I told my father and his anger was seen immediately.
He tore through the house and outside to look for some calm in the storm I had just created.
For so long I believed I created this storm, but is not my fault my childhood betrayed me
There would be calm here, there, everywhere.
If he had not stolen my last drops of innocence.
This storm is his fault, I just added more fuel to it.
I sit here six months after telling and there is still no calming of the storm for me.
There is still no calming for my sister, nor my father.
How long until the storm is over?
