My Choice, My Fate, My Destiny

Location

“It’s All Up to You” they say,

A path to choose, to never stray;

To either stay on the straight and narrow

Or go downhill by devil’s marrow.

Why is it all up to me?

What if I don’t know what to be?

And why am I on my own

When I can call a friend for a loan

Or just ask for help and advice

Instead of being stuck with the same problem twice?

Who says “It’s All Up to You”?

The government, your parents, a teacher or two?

Understand there’s a time and place

For one to admit that they need their space

While trying to handle life and its ways,

Hoping for zero mistakes since there are no replays.

I get that in the end,

Whether by foe or by friend,

A full realization

Comes up in this conversation.

No one else can make the choice

About your life, so use your voice;

Say it, sing it, shout it out loud

Because you are allowed,

And so am I.

So I can take a leap of faith and try

With my own decision,

My true words, my precision,

In order to be anything

Or something, rather than nothing.

Well, then, I guess it is all up to me;

My choice, my fate, my destiny.
