My Cold Friend
My Cold Friend
Blind me with your tranquil reflection.
Fall gently, fall gently as not to shatter.
Fall slower than a feather and land heavier than a boulder,
Crushing everything beneath you.
Reign down and turn our world into a frosty hellscape.
Triumph over the sun, and wail
Your frozen tears to your heart's content.
Coil me your blizzard
And protect me from the outside.
Rage against the stars,
Against the pine trees that refuse to wither,
Against birds that refuse to migrate,
Against the mammals that refuse to hibernate,
And against the humans that dare to challenge you;
That insults our frozen tundra with salt. We are not
Demons, or ghouls, or monsters that lurk in the dark.
You produce the darkness, the beasts are their creation.
Just as fire, our enemy, is their creation.
Crush their coal, kill their flames, and watch them burn.
Crush their coal, kill their flames, and watch them burn.
Fall gently, fall gently as not to shatter.
Fall slower than a feather and land heavier than a boulder
My cold, cold friend.
