My Community

What would I change? I’d change a lot of things

From the way dogs bark to the way birds sing

From the way mothers yell to the way children scream

What would I change? I’d change the whole system

I’d take away taxes; I’m sure no one would miss ‘em

I’d make school cheaper; student debt would be a small sum

What would I change? I’d change how we gather

From door to door we are just strangers

I’d bring the houses closer, make us talk to one another

What would I change? I’d change how we care

Because that’s what’s important; what will we share?

Make my community less hateful, more fair
