My Confidence Came from you

My confidence came from you

You don’t remember me,

Because you’ve taken so much from people like me.

But now you see me in the lights

And you think of what u could’ve made me.

You took my respect, my sanity,

My ability to say “I love me”

And when I thought you could come back

You only got worse and stepped on My back

I thought friends were supposed be supportive

And all the jazz I heard from guidance,

But you, You are the epitome of

of the contradictory of everything those counselors ever told me

You brought me down so low, to make yourself look so high

And now that I’m way up here, I look down and I need to know why?

Why would you pick me to lead on, make me feel loved,

Make me finally like I can finally rise above,

And drop me like a freshly done art piece

Because you knew how much you were to me.

But guess what, I exceeded your expectation.

It was when you threw me on the ground that I finally had a revelation

That I could not let vile beings that have maimed what God created

Take away my self-confidence, take away all that I have left.

It was then that I decided to tell you

Not by my words, but through my deeds I had to show you

That my confidence can be renewed by forgetting about people like you

I focused on me, and only me, and what I knew had to be

And when I finally soared so high, and I finally made it in the lights

And I look back on my past, and see, you’ve made me realize,

That the confidence that I now present to you,

That confidence that made me, My confidence came from you.
