My Convalescent Soul
To be or not to be,
To be the poet is to be my truest self,
To breathe in the secrets of my convalescent soul,
It has taught me to act when I want to act,
Speak when I want to speak,
...To write what I want to write,
The authenticity that comes from poetry gives me a release unlike any other,
I am finally able to acknowledge my feelings,
While simultaneously encapturing the being that I call my own,
To fully comprehend the depths of my nature is to find peace at last,
To write down the philosophical findings of my brain is to reach a higher plane of understanding,
So for me,
The one thing that I am sure that poetry has taught me,
Is to truly be myself
Something wrong with this poem?
