My Cry

When the dark could comes over me What is it that you see Can you hear that? Do you hear my cry? He walks into my room and finds me smiling But when he leaves I feel like dying Why? Does he know that my kids are watching? Does he even care? He takes his bottle and dunks it down After all of this pain and humiliation He made me feel like a clown You left me with tears in my eyes And scars on my face Do you hear my cry? When you became the father to my daughter's child, I stood back and watched you misuse and abuse her You will ruin her perception of men She will grow up thinking abuse is love But I couldn't... Cause like the coward I am I cried Tried to fight you, but I couldn't breathe... Can you hear that? Can you hear my cry? My daughter didn't even know what sex was when you forced her to learn about it You told her she was becoming a woman You made her first experience, her worst She cried herself to sleep every night because of you Do you hear that? Do you hear her cry? Psychologists and therapists couldn't get her to talk I hate what you've turned her into She is a mime at day and a zombie at night You made her a mother at 9 and a grandmother at 18 Do you hear that? Do you hear my cry?
