My Dad

My Dad My Dad was there from the start He said he held me to his Heart And felt my breath on his cheek He raised me up for all to see My Dad taught me many things How to fish and pushed me in my swing I rode my first bike I flew my first kite All because my Dad My Dad was also the disciplinarian At times I had trouble understanding him But now I see why He would tan my hide To teach me to stay on the right side My Dad also taught me of a man Who was raised on a stand And nailed for all our sins To complete the final end My Dad
