My Daisy

One day I picked a daisy

Full of life and flower dreams

Some may say I’m crazy

But I'm telling you it sings

Tonight it hums a playful tune

One to make you dance or swoon

One to dream yourself to sleep

And one to make you mourn or weep

Never have I ever seen

A daisy that could sing

It has become my closest friend

Never will our friendship end

For I planted it in the fancy bend

Next to the water and the wind

So always it shall sing to me

Of mornings bright and nights so free

As nectar taken from bee to bee

For always it will sing you see

and forever it will always be

A dear little friend to me
