My Dark Skin

My dark skin doesn't define what is within,

But my dark skin is what you notice first.

My dark skin is not what I am entitled by

Its just the skin I'm blessesd with.

I love my skin, and also others who do not.

I'm here to change the mind of others who are

unknown to simple minded actions they presume.

My ancestors blessed me with this gift,

that I am so grateful to abtain.

While others put us in groups of the lightest and darkest

I'm here to say in the inside we are all the same.

No ones skelteon is dark, no ones brain is black.

We were put here by a king,

and will leave here through his hands.

The hands of a king that made us who we are

and sometimes others can't understand.

Im proud of my dark skin
