My Darkness and I

Once upon a time, I had a love affair with darkness

Affair seemed to not be the right word to use to describe the relationship between i

and the malicious evil that consumed me

Was I held against my will?

At times I was

but, also there were times where i full heartedly

willingly, leapt into those arms,

that strong hold,

bathing myself in every evil intent that it had.

There was no light to save my heart

There was no hero like in all of those silly, childish, fairy tales

The only twinkle of hope that had came to save me once from the darkness

had faded,

only to return long after I thought my dance with the devil was over

that red, flaming fire that burned and frew each day

fighting the darkness away

I depended on this flame

but soon it did give out

and I was left to defend myself against the darkness alone

So no, there is no savior in this story

there is only me

and the darkness within
