My Daughter

My Daughter

Make me proud of the accomplishment that I consider my daughter; be aware of what people might do to you, make sure not to trust anyone that crosses your path, make sure there is a wall that separates you and people you might come across in the real world; the wall that is separating you make sure it is built of fear, fear of losing your reputation, fear of not having an education, fear or being physically hurt, fear of being emotionally trampled upon, fear of losing your true purpose in the place that you planted yourself; do not forget to call your mother and sister and brother and sister and brother, they will miss you very much, and you will miss us too, you just do not know how much yet; do not ever forget where you came from, because no matter where you are in the world, your family will be following, and along with family, your reputation will withhold our future so do not mess up; think twice about doing something, and then think again, make sure before you sleep to recount all the things you have done throughout the day and see if you can do better tomorrow, make sure if you have cents in your purse to give to the homeless, both you and I know we need good deeds coming your way; make sure what you want to accomplish in your career can leave time for your future family; you are old enough to think of finding a husband, and in time you will have children, so mind the time you will spend on work, and where your priorities lie; a neurosurgeon will not have the time to come home from work and make dinner, take care of the children or husband, be able to clean the house and make it presentable to when your husband will have guests, and have your children dressed and look presentable in front of company if it is last minute preparation, and on top of all that, make sure you look respectable in the eyes of visitors because you are the pretty face of the prize your husband won, a beautiful, intelligent, hard-working, well-established woman, that I can one day call myself proud of all my hard work and effort put into raising a woman like be friends with people that are smart and have connections, because my dear, no matter how much you want to believe something is fair, it usually just ends up being those who have the connections are the ones that succeed and those who start from the top will remain there, and they so happen to fall there is a close knitted net ready to catch them and fling them back on top; and those who start from the bottom have to live through every level to try to get to the top, and unfortunately those people have to play dirty in order to get to the top, because it is those on top the set the rules for everyone and they do not make it fair for the people on the bottom, and would hate to see anyone exceed them in status; and when those people who fought their way to the top, suddenly fall, there is only a thin string woven back and forth on two fingers that will be there to catch them; my daughter the world is an ugly place, people are not kind, do not give them the benefit of the doubt because they will not be fair back to you, they do not deserve your kind heard no do they want it; I know you have tried to be kind to people when they have offended or disrespected you in hopes that they will see what they have done and apologize, and I have let you be when it comes to situations like that, but I know you have learned the hard way that people do not want to admit their mistakes and apologize for what they have do to you; to take those times as lessons, and learn to defend yourself firstly and secondly, do not be sorry for who you are because whether or not people like it you cannot help being who you are, and people hate that because they will see your accomplishments and pride written all over you and the courage and fearlessness that you wear so well and people will hate you for it, but then again they will fear you; because you stood strong against their brutal words they are no better than the bottom of your shoes, so fear not my daughter, because I have raised you well and for that I am proud of my accomplishment that is my daughter; do not waste time during the day, there are enough hours to sleep for eight, for to class for two or three, six to study, three to eat and shower and prepare yourself for the day, and still have hours left to do whatever your little heart desires; I am not saying to not buy things when you need or even want, however, be smart in spending; money does not grow on trees, and no need for your smart remakes; no one likes a smartass; I am proud of what I have done with you my daughter, I know you will not let me down, I have faith in what I have done to come this far, you have set an exceptional example for families everywhere for what a great parent should be, your siblings have seen you as an example as to why they should listen to what I instruct them to do; because you will turn out to be something else that the world has ever seen, and my daughter, I am proud of you, I am proud of what you have done for yourself, because I have not told you this, but I will not be around forever, you will have to live your life on your own, I am hard on you because I love you, not because I am proud or what to show you off as the best example of a daughter, but because you deserve the world and if I make you headstrong and proud of who you are and where you came from, people will be afraid to ruin you because you can ruin them.
