My Dear

We met in the sunlit wood
Just before dusk you stood.
I have seen you here before,
Another time, the same place I'm sure.

And we have both grown older now,
Yet our dreams alive somehow.
Is it God's will for us to meet,
Is he smiling on us as we speak
To each other in talking eyes,
Yet my heart aloud it cries
For a soul of love like you
To share life with too.

Perhaps we'll meet again as today,
God willing he'll guide our way.
Just a glance is all for time,
But we'll have time enough in the sunrise
To remember this moment here,
A moment of you and me my dear.
