To my dear sweet Mother

Up in her tower

Bound since the hour

of birth to now in candlelight

Shut in from the light and all potential fright just as her "mother" intended.

Yes indeed she was happy and content cleaning and washing damp sheets in silence

keeping up her happy home and tending to her mother's every desire.

She did what pleased them both without haste.

Using all her body and soul so not to anger

a mother who knew of all things

and gave her a world of four walls.

So when a curious prince came up riding and climbed to her perch she shunned him

and left him hanging.

To her mother she confided to at her beside as she brushed her hair

golden and silky over a silent body.

It cascaded down and swirled around

tinted in red by a failed parry.

She placed a kiss on the pale forehead of her mother and left back to her perch

taking her mother's place as their sweet guardian fairy.
