My Definitive Poetry

Therapeutic. No influence from a great

 but I found my niche

A shallow recess from the outside, enrich

ment

isn’t meant

to be defined specifically

or statistically

But in fact, on ability

To convey a message

5th grade, my mind in a wreckage

I took to the pen at nights before bed

in a quest to digest the thoughts clouding my head

9th grade, a new twist

writing was used to showcase my happiness

12th grade, overwhelming sadness,

conflicts with my inner self and her worth

journaling became poetry

and poetry became therapy

at least all the words and all the metaphors were loved

and nurtured

a measure of growth, mentally and emotionally

I wouldn’t be me without my poetry
