my demons
Most kids demons live under the bed
My demons live in my head
My demons know how to fight
But are never in your sight
I try to drown them out
But they just shout
They take over me
And drown me at sea
I want to stop the voices in my head
They make me wish I was dead
I try to drown my demons
To finally be a freeman
My demons are real
They come from fear
They come from abuse
They make me want to use the noose
They’ve followed me for years
Always whispering in my ears
They are dark and dim
And know how to swim
Reminders of my past
They make the bad memories last
I try to make them hide
Because of my pride
The fight is not easy
It makes me wheezy
But soon I will win
And finally have a big grin
