My Destiny

Long nights spent in the studio,

Repeating each song several times.

My voice coming through the stereo,

Perfecting the riffs as the chorus climbs.

Bright lights over a broad stage-

I can't believe I'm finally here.

But I take a deep breath to assuage

My adrenaline-laden fear. This is my career.

For the first few moments

Its all a blur.

Until a chord cuts through the silence,

And the crowd starts to murmur.

I'm here not to tell them my story,

But to tell them of His;

It's really not about me,

But I believe that this is my destiny.
