My Dreams

On an island all alone,

Without the comfort of him or her

Could you do it, or would you groan?

What would you bring,

Would the sweet salty breeze be good enough

Or perhaps the sweet island fruit would overstuff

The clouds, no crowds, could you be proud?

Would you take your clock, how you talk?

Where you lived of where you learned?

Or the journal that contains everything internal?

I'd bring my heart full of dreams

and my mind full of goals

A fresh start would be built

A kingdom would be whole

On this island all alone

Without the comfort of him or her

I could start all new

I could live like never before
