My Dreams Are Met
My Dreams Are Met
My head throbs
my stomach clenches,
my palms drip,
at the sight of the benches.
The mic is there waiting,
my lungs try to sing.
The people, their eyes
are waiting, wincing.
As I step forward,
a few of them yawn.
It's time to go now,
but I can't budge.
Yet, something inside
gives me a nudge.
"Go on," it whispers.
It laughs at my fear.
It urges me,
reminds me,
my dreams are now near.
