My Dreams are the Sea
My dreams are the sea, shifting ‘long the tide:
Sapphires in the darkness, uncorrupted.
By the waves of time none will then abide,
Till by light of day are interrupted.
From clouds of thought unhindered in the haze,
A consciousness of worlds unknown breaks through:
A grasp to give a count among the days,
And search a shore of mysteries anew.
No small contempt will vie to pierce my soul
While under call of lucid depths I lay.
On and on the break of waves may then roll,
As refuge holds within the gilded bay.
But be warned, the sea is treacherous still,
And raids a heart swiftly at its own will.
