My Elucidation

Maybe this is all there is, and one day who I was and what I did will cease to exist. But there is only one thing that can soothe my aching heart. An idea, a notion. And writing is where it starts. It brought me back into this world I had shut myself out of for so long. There's a vacancy in my being And only when I write Is it complete. In the place where you only see darkness, My life is given meaning. In the beauty of a story That has yet to unfold. And the truth is I write Because the world has let you down a time or two. And your soul still bears the scars Of the wounds your body dare not show. You see I write for you Because I need to. And when finally existence seems content When anxieties and angsts are at rest Once again I will be left to my ever familiar Solitude. Where the sun will set And the lonely chill of night will rise The vacancy in my being Will seep into the crevices of my every bone And will once again need to be availed With the story of yet another's woe.
