My Escape

The ocean so beautiful and inviting

calls to me like a long lost friend.

Oh, how pleasant your salty aroma;

your lapping waves tickling my feet.

Your company is what I long to have.

To lounge in your coastal waters

peaceful,

           without worry,

while the sun kisses my body.

All around tourists gather

to see your enchanting waters,

quickly growing bored and moving on.

But I,

I shall stay here forever

by your side

till my heart is content.

If only a friend

could be as true as you.

     You, my ocean

                     my escape

with your millions of hidden mysteries.

Let us flee reality

together,

forgetting evil and sorrow,

till the sun ceases to shine.

The ocean, my friend

you are my obsession.
