My Everything

The one thing I can’t live without,

The love of my life

The one who loves me without a doubt

She carried me for nine months, proud

Even when doctors said I wouldn’t make it

She never gave up and birthed me and I came into this world screaming and loud

If I were stranded on an island with a choice of one thing

My mother, my world, would be my first pick

Choosing her is choosing everything I could ever think to bring

If it weren’t for her, there would be no me

Simply perfect in my eyes, she can do no wrong

She’s my mother and as Maya Angelou said, she’s a woman, phenomenally.
