To my Ex

You we’re the sun in my world, so thank you for lighting the pathway. 

Broke some of my bones, but thank you for the heartbreak I needed too. 

Me, and you belonged together, so thank you for the time spent. 

But, we didn’t belong together forever so thank you for being my past. 

I still miss you, I think about you all the time, thank you for keeping my mind busy.

Survived, we survived so much, but thank you for showing me everything dies. 

And to all the days we never said forever, it makes sense, thank you for never lying. 

Learned how to despise my favorite place this summer, so thank you for all the memories there. 

How I wish I could forget you, hate you, but thank you for reminding me I can’t. 

To the days where I could just cry on your chest, thank you for holding me while you did.
