My Eyes

My eyes

Are all about play

They don’t want to work

They don’t want to focus

They dart around

All day.

And there is blur

And there is stare

And there is glaze

And there is stretching,

Open open open

Until they can’t possibly

be wider.

My eyes

Are shy

They don’t want to meet

Other eyes their age

And they don’t want to meet

Other eyes that are older

Or younger

Or anything.

They are fine with seeing themselves

Eachother

In the mirror

Moving out of unison

Because they are siblings who like to

Argue.
