My Faith

English Shakespearean Sonnet

By: Savannah Rasmussen

April 4, 2016

My Faith

Living, breathing never dying within

tangible as air, visible as wind

moving the mountains and fleeing from sin

past hurricanes of doubt made quickly thinned.

Powered by light and cascades with new life

immune to darkness amorphous yet real

yelling and screaming ideas filled with strife

this world ever coarse won’t shift what I feel.

Serene I am encompassed or alone

a hero, rescuer loyal to me

constant you are, I build my life on stone

you raise me up to more than I can be.

Without you I can’t live and I won’t die

Faith will feed joy and will never run dry.
