In my fantasy.

Cold, dark, and eerie was the night

That You begged for my love,

promised me that there would be no fright.

I took You into my naive world

and you slithered into my heart.

Nestled into my arms, in the nest curled

You whispered the three words I believed I would never hear.

In my fantasy, You would have stayed.

In my fantasy, You would have not played

into the temptation of the devils.

In my fantasy, You would have been strong,

You could have burst into bravery and believed,

Believed that you could do anything in your power

to have my heart relieved.

But this is not my fantasy.

This is the bitter truth of reality.

All I wanted was the truth of why you feigned fragility.

You made it seem like we had reached a neutrality,

You worshipped your masculinity,

My death was your vitality,

And your poison was my mortality.

I will never be the same.

You will never be the same.

I could shower you with unconditional love.

You could have reflected my love.

I could have said, “I love you”.

You could have said, “I love you”.

But I won’t.

Why?

Because I love you.
