My Farewell

It's been a week

but I can't seem to shake it off my head

it still haunts me, in my sleep,

the bygones I thought I've forgotten,

for the past few days

I've been scrambling to put all the pieces together

hoping to materialize an alternative

an adjudication to my adversity,

these past few years have been a struggle

I've digressed to my faith and beliefs

and shut out all of my confidants

nestled in the deep dark forest

Today, I've decided to reach out

in the process, a shrewd friend responded

that even what it seems to be the ethical choice

at that time, can be a wrong one

even though it appears to be what's best for everyone,

people make small bad choices

we can't always differentiate what's wrong from what's not,

we're only able to see what's best for us in most cases

that's why it's always reassuring,

that we can ask for forgiveness and repentance

for it creates a breather for us to make better choices

in finding the best one, and hopefully the rightful one.
