My Father

When I think of my father, I think of sunny weather, all those long days on the farm, his hands and face worn like leather. When I think of my father, I’m reminded of all that is right, that I should always turn the other cheek, and focus on joy and light. When I think of father, I think of the time he invested In his work and in his children, he was never fully rested. When I think of my father, I see all he did for others, Not a selfish bone in his body, to him all are sisters and brothers. When I think of my father, I remember what he taught, always living by example, and satisfied with what he got. When I think of my father, I think of his sandy hair His warm smile and kind eyes, and I know he’ll always be there. When I think of my father, I think how the world has lost touch With the air, with the sea, with the land, with each other, we’ve forgotten so much. So I hold tight to my loved ones, and respect my elders and peers, And hopefully someday I’ll be just like dad, maybe in a few years.
