My Father’s Little Girl

'What happened to her?'
They ask.
'It was all a blur.'
He answers.

She grew up.
That's What Happened.
She's no longer a cub.
And that Hurts.

She's fifteen now.
A teenager.
He can't remember her growing up, somehow.
Even though he was there the whole time.

She is me.
And he is my dad.
He still remembers when I was three.
And is sad I grew up.

But it's all inevitable.
I was bound to grow up.
It wasn't devetable.
And now I've grown up.
