My Favorite Color
There is no greater color to me, than that of sunlight
Oh how its warm radience can change a field, nay,
Ones own skin.
How I desire to have a shirt striped o fthe sunlight and shadow
Found within the blinds to my window.
How I long to live again in that paradise of Arizona!
A sky so blue and full of life I have never found in another place.
Nor have I missed so much anything,
Save for the specks of light we call stars.
You may say we have stars, here, in South Carolina.
But there, I have galaxies.
I have nebulas and planets and solar systems.
And I have the sun.
That is what I miss most, the never-ceasing sun.
I wish to bathe in the sun,
Let it color me as it colors the green fields, the bright sunflowers.
Let me be one of those floral giants!
Give to me leaves and petals that I may stretch them as far as I may.
Just please, let me have my sun, my stars.
Let me have my Arizona.
