My First Heart Broken

It's been a year you say

we know enough,

but I barely know your name.

They say I'm shy, yet you don't even compare.

Silence is more like it.

You joke and play,

thinking just that is okay.

Your infatuation caused your overthinking:

We'll be married.

We'll have kids.

Forever and ever...

Sounds so perfect, yet I'm falling for another.

There has to be something wrong with me, right?

A perfect fairytale versus the obvious.

I'm not two-faced, I'm not a cheater,

I won't lie to you anymore -

we shouldn't have rushed into this.

Young love they say - we're stupid.

Fuck what they think is all I say.

I can't take this stress,

and I try telling you,

but you don't take the hint.

It comes out finally, and you take it the wrong way.

I already see your tears,

blending in with mine.

Sorry doesn't compare to the pain, the loss

I've caused, but I say it over and over.

Because you're my first heart broken.
