My First Love

First Love

When you think of love, I hope you think of me

When I think of you, love is all I see

I’ll never forget you or our young heart beats

With late night talks on these Rocky Point streets

And I knew when the planets would align

When I held your hand and you held mine

As the minutes turned to hours to days

Needing to forget you as my mind was set ablaze

You engulfed me into your beautiful world

Drowning me in kisses as my butterflies swirled

You’ll always be my sweet boy, from when I was young

And I’ll love you always, for the years to come

From the eastern seaboard, all the way to L.A

My love will stay pure and never decay

With all the tears and heartbreak we’ve had

It doesn’t even matter, with you I’ll never be sad

My heart will never forget our sweet song

I know deep down, with you I belong

As for now my friend, we’ll have to wait and see

But the memories we have will always be

So this is goodbye for now

Take this poem as my vow

I will love you always.
