my first love

Young and naive, without understanding

Little did he know he’d be in to deep

She fell for him hard, her heart expanding

But the promise he made, he would not keep

A promise made and a promise broken

She looked for hope in his dark dreamy eyes

Her fear of such lies remained unspoken

Yet all she could see were his bold face lies

The promise of I love you was not seen

Eyes filled with saddness fell a single tear

A bond she thought lasting between a teen

To love again would be her greatest fear.

She saw that love had made a great mistake

Because one like hers would be hard to fake
