My First Love
I fell in love with poetry; it is my first love, love at first sight. When I didn’t have a voice I could speak on the paper. When no one would listen I had this sheet and pencil that became my best friend. No one could judge me no one had to see my face but they would see these words and read between the lines that poetry is my escape. I didn’t have to fit in with the trends of the world. I didn’t need to be quiet or be afraid to say what’s on my mind cause this paper always had time for me. Poetry is what made me not loose my mind when no one would take the time see the real me. Poetry is what made everyone stop and listen to what was on my heart. Poetry is like flowers in the spring finally blossoming to me. No one had to listen to me but I could always get a pencil and paper and make my first love, poetry.
