My First Tooth

My scraggly blonde hair covered my face,

Unbrushed from all the excitement.

I had finally gained the courage to pull out

My tiny, bright, white tooth.

I stuck the tiny tooth inside a rugged glass canning jar.

Excited to see what the tooth fairy would bring,

I jumped into bed,

Wishing for the morning

As the night began,

The room darkened,

Sending me into wonderland.

Where I lived as a princess in a tall tower,

Riding my marvelous white horse into the sunset,

I awoke the next morning,

The gaping hole in my mouth,

And the five dollars in my jar,

Proving my dream true,

I had lost my first tooth.

written in a creative writing class, originally a "curious room prompt," I soon molded this poem from descriptive pieces, and exprissive verbs. To create "My First Tooth."
