My Forest
Back when my head was just a seed
Small, smooth, unsprouted,
What would grow a mystery
Mystery soon came to reveal itself
The seed started to sprout
But needed love to blossom
Mother nature watered, fertilized, shined on, and trimmed
Developing a beautiful plant
Not everyone believed such growth was beautiful
Rather out of shape, fake, messy, tangled, unloved
Imprinted in my mind I hated my plant
I added chemicals and techniques to make it “neat”
I imprisoned my weed
Displaying the unruly mess as clean
Now my growth was truly unloved
The smallest ant came across my plant
Confused and overtaken
To her it was wonderful, gorgeous
But needed love to flourish
Mother nature heard her plea
But said it was up to me
My head is no longer a seed
And was never a weed
I watered, fertilized, shined on, and trimmed
Developing my beautiful plant
I watered, fertilized, shined on, and trimmed
Harvesting my garden
I am watering, fertilizing, shining, and trimming
Starting my forest
