My Former Everything
She was a stranger
I admired her from afar
The most beautiful person I'd ever seen
But too afraid to say a word
-
She was a new friend
An optimistic person too
Who brought sunshine to my life
Made me feel like I'd be fine
-
She was my true love
We'd stay up late and talk about dreams
We both loved Kanye and other inspiring things
I imagined how we'd spend the rest of our lives
-
She was ashamed of me
In public she wouldn't even say hello
On twitter she'd unlike her favorite posts
Probably so her boyfriend wouldn't know
-
She was touched
By the fact that I had confessed
She was affectionate for about a week
But reality soon came inbetween
-
We were friends
We checked in with each other once in awhile
She even wished me happy birthday
That was the last time I talked to her
-
She's now a stranger
But now instead of love I feel
I just remember constant heartbreak
Knowing we would never be
But sticking around just to see
Something wrong with this poem?
