My Friend

It seems like I've known you forever

But we just met this past year

Our friendship will last 'til the end

Trust me I have no fears

You smile when I say something nice

You laugh when I say something dim

But two people being totally alike

I'll have to admit the chances were slim

Your face when you're around me

Tells me I'm doing my job

By making you laugh

By making you smile

Even when I go out of my way

It was definitely worthwile

I hope that I make you happy

I hope that I cheer you up when you're sad

But what's really important to me

Is that you make me so glad
